About Us

Situated within Vallejo’s Old City Hall, the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum is a hub of historical exploration. Our location grants access to five galleries, each meticulously curated to illuminate the rich heritage of our city and its connection to the U.S. Navy. Additionally, the museum proudly features a working submarine periscope, allowing visitors to take in the breathtaking vistas of the City of Vallejo and Mare Island.

 As an advocate for education and culture, the museum actively sponsors a range of programs to benefit the community. These initiatives include group tours, captivating concerts, and recitals held in our esteemed Heritage Chamber. Additionally, we host enlightening lectures, engaging audio-visual presentations, and other special events that promote learning and appreciation of our shared history.

 Prepare to be amazed by the vastness of our museum, which encompasses over 25,000 square feet of exhibit space. Our five galleries are meticulously maintained and showcase a rich array of artifacts. These exhibits draw from the permanent collections of the museum, local private collections, traveling exhibitions, and borrowed artifacts from the extensive collection at Mare Island.
